Why I became a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine – Matthew Gianforte

Welcome back to our discussion on Chiropractic and while body health. I’m Dr. Matt with LifeWorks Chiropractic and I welcome your questions any time.

I’d like to pick up where I left off last time with my newfound affinity toward Chiropractors when I was young. I discovered Chiropractic care at the ripe age of 10 after I sprained my ankle in a basketball game and was willing to do anything to get back on the court.

As a child who was frequently prescribed antibiotics and inhalers to treat my respiratory issues, I would regularly expect to get sick three to four times per year. I thought I would have to resign myself to a life of medical appointments and medications to achieve a state of comfortable existence. I started communication my health issues to my Chiropractor and found that he was able to align my health naturally through Chiropractic adjustments and nutritional advice. Not only did I start to feel better, but I stayed better. I wound up tossing my inhaler and stopping all medication after I became a Chiropractic patient.

As I grew, so did my interest in health and wellness. I was thinking about becoming an Orthopedic surgeon, but the evidence that the body could heal itself and stave off infection and disease without many of the drugs and surgical procedures we use today was compelling. I was so interested in it that I enrolled at the top Chiropractic school: Davenport.

I learned that there are really two different approaches when it comes to Chiropractic care. The first simply involves treating symptoms of pain or discomfort. The second not only treats pain but also works with our bodies to fight off illness and disease. I chose the latter and went into practice for myself. As time went on, news and proof of the benefits of Chiropractic care spread in our Westernized civilization. Chiropractic care became more accepted as a mainstream solution to many of the people’s medical maladies as well as their quest for overall health and is now a regular part of many people’s lives. It’s also become a preferred method of treatment for symptoms of disease such as multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, and Parkinson’s.

Have you ever felt passionate about something? Is it news to you that Chiropractic care is a safe, natural, and drug-free way to support a person’s full body systems and functions?
